Casing Fan Suggestion

Go to solution Solved by brownninja97,

I would like to put 2 LED fans on front , and replace the stock cooler from Scout II with 1 more fan,

any good suggestion? I prefer Performance

noctua ultimately is the best, period, other then them which i dont like because they look horrid and honestly you only need to care about performance in a rad. Corsair are decent due to their warrenty, enermax is the company to go for if you want leds however, they beat the performance of corsairs fans and they make the best looking leds. Alternatively if appearance can sway your decision then these fans may suit your needs . Ultimately its up to you also as for a cpu cooler id go for the hyper 212, best bang for buck no question

Hello, I am new to this forum and also into building rig

I just recently purchase a rig as follows :

i5-4670K

Asrock z87 Extreme4

Seasonic s12ii-620W 80Plus Bronze

G.Skill Aegis 2x4 GB 1600Mhz RAM
Gainward GTX 760 Phantom 2GB
WD Blue 1TB
CM Storm Scout II

I have yet to include any casing fan or aftermarket CPU cooler yet, everything is stock cooler.

I would like to have some suggestion on casing fan, i have heard how good is Corsair SP120/AF120 cooling effeciveness.

How much Fans i need to get and how to make intake/exhaust on cooling?

Please help me, thanks.

firstly corsair fans are over rated.

next what kind of fans do you like, performance, silent ones, leds or double toned.

You need at least one intake and one exhaust, i prefer to have two of each but its not a must, watercoolers will of course need more.

After looking at the specs for your case, you can hold at max 8x 120mm fans. I would use these, but there are a number of really good brands to pick from. http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/case-fans/popular-fans/high-airflow-fans?fansize=120mm| or take a look at aerocool and coolmaster.

How about include 2 fans at front , replace the rear fans, and put on a CM Hyper 212x?

Or should I stick to full corsair SP series with H100i ?

What I recommend is get a CM Hyper 212 EVO. Get two Corsair SP120 fans with it. For case cooling, you always want more intake than exhaust. Since yours comes with one exhaust, I recommend getting two AF120 LED fans from Corsair.

FANBOY OF: PowerColor, be quiet!, Transcend, G.Skill, Phanteks

The quiet editions are not worth getting compared to other fans. Corsair fans are pretty mediocre for the most part with a few that stand out like the sp120 pe's that perform well, look good, but are really loud.

@Sonifiler's suggestion is pretty much a waste of money. Push/pull does little to help performance and doesn't improve much from the single fan that is already on the 212 Evo. I'd recommend just sticking with the 212 Evo with its stock fan.

Regarding case fans--why replace it add new ones in the first place? Are your temps unsatisfactory?
