Budget (including currency): $2500 (may exceed a bit?

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

heavy PUBG player at 2k 144+ fps, heavy 3D rendering, video editing, and animation

Other details

I got the msi 3070 at msrp $799 (expensive card....), also got the 5950x at $900 from a friend, which leaves about $1000 for other parts.

I know you might say 5950x should pair to a more powerful GPU but I cannot get one and I don't see the use of that for me. At least that is my thought.

Here are my picks, NO RGB lol! leave comments below to help my first PC build~ should I get rid of the 5950x?

acutally getting a intel 10th gen or even 11th gen is not a bad deal at the moment
You will get the 11th gen for under msrp, even though it came out like an hour ago
But than there is of course the need of a powerful cpu cooler
But if you have got the 5950x already thats great

I guess 5950x is way more powerful than a 11th gen?

for the gpu 3070 2000 bucks not a great deal you could get a 3090 for 1500 bucks i suggest wait till the gpu chip shortage ends and for the cpu you better get like a 5600x or 5800x or 11600k

and maybe 3080 is enough for you at 1080p

I agree game wise. My heavy work flow probably requires a powerful cpu. I am wondering if I use 3070 with the 5950x will create some problems?

no 5950x is not more way more powerful than the 11900k its just slightly faster but the 5950x isnt a great value get a 5800x or 5900x insted but if youre a heavy gamer 5950x's right for you if you want future proofing use 3090 or 3080

what games uses more than... 8 cores 16 threads??

OP can get a 5950x if his workload can spread across 16 cores

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

for csgo you dont need a good gpu 2070 super will work the same as 3080 in csgo because csgo is cpu intensive

not they will work togehter fine just fine
You just might want to upgrade the 3070 after the shortage
Not that it is a bad Gpu but a 3080 would just be faster you know

yeah for streaming 590x is good also i think for now if you pair 5800x with a 3080 it's pretty darn good with a x570 chipset

bit of a premium parts you picked, but overall it's a decent build

whether to sell the 5950x or not depends on how much u can utilise it, it's a nice chip overall, but only if you can utilise its full potential

that is not good build

the cooler is pretty bad

the motherboard is fairly basic for 5900x

that ssd is pretty bad

Yes the 3080 is not at stock right now. you sohuld wait for thing to settle. it can take some time so oyu can get soemthing like used rx 570 for now.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

for what you need 2tb of storage anyway? For games? No. For videos/projects mayby. Storage is really easy to upgrade so i think 2TB is enough for starters
