Putting build together for Video Editing.

Hello

Looking for recommendations on putting my first system together. Will be used mostly for editing 4K video on Davinchi Resolve - Studio version. Not a heavy gamer. Already own the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING Video Card and Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Basically building around the video card since I waited this long to get any RTX 30 for retail and will be having someone help put it together once I get all the parts. Flexible on the build since I do not know a lot about hardware and am learning.

Thanks for the feedback,

This is what I am using as a starting point

Cool build so far, if you're planning on buying soon I'd go with the cheaper but higher wattage + overall better valued
Enermax Rev DF 850W  Everything else in the build seems fine, I just wouldn't spend so much on an H100i and would rather use it for an EK DRGB AIO instead. But that's all in my own preference. Best of luck

I made a couple of changes. I'll explain them.

- I included a different cooler, as much as I love Corsair, the Arctic Freezer 360 mm will perform better and is cheaper

- I changed the case to the 4000d airflow, it will perform better and if you want rgb, you can always add rgb fans to it

- Instead of an hhd i used an ssd, they reason behind this was because working off of a hard drive is pretty laggy, you'll be better off using an ssd, sure 2tb compared to 5tb, but it will be much better for editing, and if you need more storage down the line, upgrading is super easy

- Windows 10 Pro for $20 is very sus, dont buy from key resellers, read section 8 of microsoft's TOS to find out why  you could lose your copy of windows because key resellers often times use stolen credit cards, just buy from the retailer i chose on pcpp

my signiture was cool, but its a lie now

If somebody chooses 5TB drive, it's usually because they need 5TB, and it doesn't matter how fast 2TB is if it just can't store enough.

I would personally go for i9 10850K - it has 10 cores not 8, so it should perform better in video editing - it's also not too far behind in gaming. Pair it with a decent B460 board, 2933 RAM (can't do XMP on B460, but it doesn't really matter) and you're good to go, rest of the build is all right.

But working off of a hdd is very slow, he might not actually need that much storage

Either one would be good.

Thanks guys,

The larger HD is just going to be for storage. I will just pick up a large 3.5 HD down the road for a bunch of Epic Games and such.

I changed the Case, the 2nd storage to SSD, the CPU Cooler, and added the larger Power Supply,

I may do a little more research on an Intel chip and motherboard vs the AMD Ryzen and motherboard.

Thanks, changed the power supply. The 60hz monitor is a sacrifice for color accuracy although I am leaning towards the smaller BenQ SW271. Thanks again
