Can you go to OBS, click help -> log files -> show log files and upload the latest text document here.

Make sure to upload the log files after streaming for a bit maybe 10 minutes.

Oh, ok, i was wondering how to check for any errors etc anyway...

But, omg!  I had Shadowplay running all the time! (didnt notice)  i think that could be why its been lagging  like that....  i turned SP off now... lets see if that fixes it lol >.<

edit: ok, that was it, checked before turning off shadowplay , laggy as hell, after turning off shadowplay everything looks to be normal.

Tldr: dont have 2 streaming apps running at once, i guess!

Its quite comically really , the youtube stream may say 60fps, but there are tons of slowdowns to like 10-15fps, i think my hardware should be able to easily handle it, no such issues with Shadowplay, i would  just really like to start using OBS instead , mostly because GFE constantly makes me log in (into youtube) whenever i want to stream , wheras OBS just keeps me logged  in, as it should !

Any ideas what settings to use?  Note 25000 bitrate is about the minimum im comfortable with, otherwise it just looks way too pixelated, but i dont think that should be an issue?

Also i had it set to 60fps, im just about to try out 59.94 now.

also what are the other settings here, integer fps, bicubic?

something tells me i should use integer and bilenear maybe, as there is (hopefully) no scaling.

But, yeah, it shouldn't lag like this?

Specs: R5 3600 (doesnt seem to bottleneck at all) RTX 3070 (it supposedly is great for streaming?) 16GB 3200 DDR4...

I really shouldn't have these issues ?  But, unfortunately its really ridiculously laggy (not constantly but mostly)

PS: no issues in game, its constant 60fps, only the stream is lagging .

This is pretty high. Try turning it down to 18000.

What is your upload speed?

Is it just the stream lagging or is the obs windows also lagging?

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

i mean i *can* try, however youtube suggests / recommends 30000 for 1440p 60, so it shouldn't really be an issue.

i cant really check , im streaming full screen, so whenever i check the stream stops.

edit:  upload speed is 40Mbps

edit2 :... apparently yt recommended is 24Mbps for non HDR streaming...

ima try that, doubt it helps though(and i dont even know what measurement OBS even shows exactly...)

1) YouTube caps it's bitrate, using a higher bitrate forces extra compression on YouTube's end to fit within that margin (thereby in some cases losing quality).

Because you're outputting at 1440p in a livestream, nobody in their right mind does that, it's comically stupid regardless of your hardware. Whether or not you're using the CPU or GPU encoder though might also come into play.

The drops are also because Streamlabs is probably set to it's default 'priority' mode which means that instead of making YOU drop frames, it'll do so on your stream. You could try countering this by setting the 'priority' higher, but only if you're willing to drop a few frames on your end.

3600 is a bottleneck, just less noticeably at 1440p in gaming. If you're using the CPU encoder tho, it's a MASSIVE bottleneck if you're trying to game on it simultaneously.
