what side do i go on?

i just recently got my computer, and it has been doing alright, but i need a better cpu and motherboard. i am struggling deciding if i should go amd or intel. currently, i have an idea of what i might get on each side. here are the lists,

intel (new ASRock Z390 Steel Legend Motherboard, Intel i5-9600k 3.7 GHz 6-Core CPU, and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition CPU Cooler

some extra things, im mostly just looking for a consistent 60 fps on 1080p, on most games. also, my budget is around 400 USD for this upgradei will not be streaming, but mostly just gaming. please give me feedback on anything, thanks

What is your current specs? What is your country and budget?

Neither. The 11400 is a better choice than any of the above.

Do you have a z390 board? If not then it really won’t matter, just get a B560 board with the 11400F

Yes you would. Don't see why that's an issue when you stated that you're getting a new CPU and motherboard.
