Dear PSUCultists, I need your wisdom. I've checked the PSU Tier List, but still uncertain.

Please help me to choose the most reliable PSU, that I can buy in a local store. I need a PSU for a PC that acts as my home file/virtual machine server (i3-8100/16GB/1 SSD/4x3TB SATA HDDs/BD-RW).

Here's my [ options 🔗️ ]:

  • CORSAIR TX550M (CP-9020133-EU)
  • BE QUIET! Pure Power 11 CM 600W (BN298) or BE QUIET! Pure Power 11 CM 500W (BN297)
  • SEASONIC Core GC-500
  • SEASONIC Focus Plus 550 Gold (a bit more pricey, but still)

What would you buy from this list and why?

Corsair being reviewed
Be quiet, teir B (midrange systems)
Seasonic Core GC - Teir B
Seasonic Focus - Teir A low priority units - minor issues or lack of info

Out of those 4 the focus is the best

Other Options

The owner of "too many" computers, called

The Lord of all Toasters (1920X 1080ti 32GB)

The Toasted Controller (i5 4670, R9 380, 24GB)

The Semi Portable Toastie machine (i7 3612QM (was an i3) intel HD 4000 16GB)'

Bread and Butter Pudding (i7 7700HQ, 1050ti, 16GB)

Pinoutbutter Sandwhich (raspberry pi 3 B)

The Portable Slice of Bread (N270, HAHAHA, 2GB)

Muffinator (C2D E6600, Geforce 8400, 6GB, 8X2TB HDD)

Toastbuster (WIP, should be cool)

loaf and let dough (A printer that doesn't print black ink)

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

Matter of Loaf and death (some old shitty AMD laptop)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

And more, several more

Seasonic focus is good.

Personally recommend Antec NeoEco Gold 500w, it's cheap around $60, non modular to cut cost.

No problem so far, very stable, never crash even with mild oc.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

Thanks for the answers! Maybe I just had to hear some outsiders opinions. It's a bit more expensive than I wanted, but let it be FOCUS))

I agree. Not worth adding more money over there.

Also, if you are going to buy a low-power GPU, 450w would be enough.

I've rechecked with the PSU calculator, 450w would be enough for everything <= GTX 1050. So, maybe.

Then buy straight power 11 450w. This is the best unit mentioned.

If you have to wait too long, buy the TX550M.

Thank you all for the answers. Eventually I ordered be quiet! Straight Power 11 450W (BN280). It seems that it is really the best option here, 'cause it is in Tier A and those rarely seen Focus+ issues scare me a little)).
