Hey guys,

I'm relatively inexperienced as far as graphics cards/monitors are concerned. I would like some advice/speculation on what might be required to push a triple monitor ROG SWIFT PG278Q setup. I'm currently running a Monoprice 27" IPS at 1440p with zero problems, using an EVGA gtx 680 2gb card.

Other current specs:

I7 3770K

32gb Corsair Vengence

Corsair 850W PSU

Other concerns: will an upgrade in CPU/Mobo be needed? Bigger PSU if adding multiple GPUs? Etc...

Any advice would be greatly welcomed!

You won't need to upgrade your CPU, Motherboard or PSU. All you will need to upgrade is your GPU set up...heavily. To properly push 3 1440p monitors at high settings, you'd need Dual GTX 780's as a minimum.

CPU: 5930K @ 4.5GHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme edition @ 1503MHz/7400MHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Dom Plat @ 2667MHz CAS 13 | Motherboard: Asus X99 Sabertooth | Boot Drive: 400GB Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD | PSU: Corsair HX1000i | Monitor: Dell U2713HM 1440p monitor

I'd drop back to 1080, but I'm really addicted to the 27" 1440... Only problem is the input lag is ridiculously slow. I've been waiting for this PG278 to come out, but the more I read, the more I'm afraid there is nothing that will push a three monitor setup...at least without dropping big cash and prizes on three or four titan blacks...

first of all, what are you planing on doing with this setup. if you are gaming, what games are you playing and how many fps do you want?

For 3x 1440p aaa gaming (f.i. bf4) on ultra with 60 FPS average, you will need like two 780ti's 6GB. EVGA has some coming out soon. Dont get Titan Blacks, they do not perform any better than 780ti's.

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)
