I couldn't see why anyone would upgrade to 8 from 7 if you are paying for it. I was lucky enough to get 2 copies of the OS through my college 2 years ago and while it's a great OS (despite peoples feelings towards it) I just couldn't see myself spending even just $20 on it.... I'd say if you're running 7, wait till 9.

If you really want to then do it, I myself bought it right at the beggining when 8 Pro costed 30€ or something, it's a good OS dispite all of the hate.
