Budget (including currency): $1200

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 120 fps at least in minecraft and school

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Is there anything I can change to make it 1200 dollars and still have 120 fps in minecraft

I see two parts that you could change out with another to reduce your total cost.

The first one being the CPU, an i9 is nice, but it is a bit overkill for Minecraft and school. I would recommend change that CPU over to the Intel Core i5-10400F or the AMD Ryzen 5 3600

The second one being the SSD, Samsung is a very popular brand, but with the name brand, comes the name brand price. I would recommend change it out for a SSD made from Western Digital, ADATA, Seagate, etc...

Here is a pcpartpicker list of the changes that will reduce your price. Sadly, I could not get a GPU into the parts list, due to the current GPU environment. Though the i5-10400 should be able to play Minecraft at relatively good fps and will do your school work just fine. Hopefully you find this helpful and best of luck on your build.

B460 caps your RAM speed at 2666MHZ, 3600MHZ is very overkill and even if he could OC his ram 3200MHZ is more than enough, the H510 has no airflow and is a pretty bad case, also that PSU isn't great for the price. The Antec NeoEco Gold would prob be better

I feel that this is a much more reasonable list for your needs. You don't need an i9 for what you are doing so i put an i5 11400 which is a 6 core 12 thread processor with very good value. The Hyper 212 Evo is a good CPU cooler that will be enough for the 11400. The motherboard is a bit pricey for a b560 board but availability for b560 boards is not very good right now so this is what i could find. Alternatively if there is a microcenter near you you can pick up the 11400 and the Motherboard together for a discount with much better availability. I changed the memory to a 3200 speed kit as 3600 is overkill for intel. I picked an SSD from Adata as they are a good SSD brand and the Samsung one is very pricey. I kept the H510 as to keep the aesthetics you had planned although the Phanteks P360A is a great alternative option if you are up for it. I picked a 750W semi-modular unit from Aresgame which is 80 plus Bronze rated. 750W offers a large upgrade path if you can use the integrated graphics and save up to get a gpu in the future when they are more availible.

Def an improvement, but once again the case is really bad, and that PSU is probably a fire hazard. Doesn't matter that it's 80+ bronze, that doesn't make the PSU good.

I have heard good things about the PSU but to be safe I'll change it to something else. I'll also change the case.

Much better PSU, but the RMx is terribly overpriced, and like I said in my earlier post a much cheaper PSU like the Antec NeoEco Gold ZEN would be much better for the price.

According to all that this should be good.

Here is a cheap and small wifi adapter that uses usb. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-wireless-network-Adapter-SoftAP/dp/B008IFXQFU/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2S6YAMPEYK1XP&dchild=1&keywords=usb+wifi+adapter&qid=1619449635&sprefix=usb+wifi%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-5

Ok but is it fine if I ignore the note at the bottom that says

  • Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.

Yes that is fine. It just means that if you have a very large cpu cooler and very large RAM they might interfere and they cant measure that. The 212 Evo isnt a big cpu cooler and the Vulcan Z RAM is not big so you are fine.

Don't worry about that. Every single list will have that warning, although I can 100% guarantee that the issue listed is not a problem and will not affect you.

Be sure to use this list though as it includes a better case and power supply then the original list.
