Hello. I am going to be upgrading my pc and have a few questions. I am going to be getting the ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming.

1: I have a PCIe 1x sound card. Can I put it in the bottom PCIe 3.0 16x slow without affecting the top 2 PSIe 4.0 slots?

2: I also have 2 m.2 mvne hdd. Can I use both drives without them effecting the rest of my hardware? In addition to the sound card, I will be using a GTX1070. Can I still use both m.2 drives without affecting anything else?

Thanks

1. Yes. It's connected to the chipset, while the other two slots are hard wired to the CPU.

2. Yes. One SSD connects to the CPU, the other to chipset.

That is, if you have 11th gen CPU.

A 16x length slot can handle any PCI-e card, as the most essential pins in the slot are at the I/O end.

The worst that would happen to a second m.2 drive is that it may not run at NVMe speeds.

You can download a copy of a motherboard manual from the maker's website prior to actually buying the 'board, to see what limitations there are, if any.

**I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have amended.**

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!
