How often do you read non-fictional books?

Actual_Criminal

I have never been a book reader since College to be honest. Ever since I left, I have been working and spend my free/spare time (when alone) either watching TV/films or gaming.

However, I am now in a position where professional reading can drastically further my career for exams (Non I.T related). I have read some books in the last few months and have seen success and results from it; so reading good old fashioned books clearly works 😅

Anyway, since I'm from a slightly more recent generation I find it difficult to commit time to reading. I usually have to be focused or awake for it to be useful and after work i'm either exhausted and just want to relax or, want something stimulating like a new movie or exciting game.

So to career professionals, how many hours per week do you spend reading to improve yourself or skillset? - This can be anything from career industry related books, study material reading, life skills or anything similar.

Also, any tips for getting in the mood/mindset to read? - I know it is literally the case of 'opening a book', but I haven't read a single book since College other than recently.

- As for fictional reading, I don't have the time for it OR just don't find it interesting enough to make time for it.
