occasional PC keyboard latency

Tom_nerd

hey fellow nerds.

my dads has just started complaining about his PC occasionally pausing when he's typing, it'll then catch up with what he's been typing for the few seconds its been frozen. My theory is that its the latest windows update not working properly with his Logitech keyboard drivers. Although I have very little hope in that theory.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

specs:

In every case I've had this happen to me, or another user, it was due to high system resource usage.

Next time it's happening, have him open task manager, and check what the CPU/Mem/Disk utilization is.

Wired or wireless?

If wireless, try replacing the batteries, and/or plugging in a wired keyboard to see if the issue stops.

its a wired keyboard

Sounds update related.

Make sure updates aren't going on in the background then check the usb drivers and kb drivers.  Try another USB port.  Update windows again.
