resetting a refurbished laptop battery

Hi Guys
I recently changed the Cells in my laptops battery pack. The Problem is, that the BMS still thinks the cells are the old ones and reports the old capacity. Does anybody know, how I reset the BMS?
Its a sony vgp-bps21a if that helps. I can use a raspberry pi and get data from it via i2c.

That would be a worst case solution. For now, I want to reset the BMS itself. It would be much easier and cleaner.
