Is there ever any stock though? I’ve been checking for the last week or so (not to the point of having alerts for it…yet!) but I never saw any GPU in stock (a couple of cpus occasionally)

im heading towards the 6800xt but if I connect one day and see a 6900xt in stock, I’m clicking that “buy” button.

Yeah typically every Thursday morning they release stock. They didn't this most recent Thursday but I believe they did on Friday with some added captcha they never had before. Maybe needed an extra day to implement that?

I watch one of the live YouTube feeds on drop days and/or discords for notice of when the drops hit.

3080 or 6900XT for same price?

6900XT any day of the week.

RT doesn’t matter yet, DLSS is a reduction in IQ, 16GB VRAM will age better than 10GB

once again i think this comes down to a case by case basis. i chose the 3080 because i actually prefer 1440p to 4k, in 4k the resolution is so high in some games things appear smaller. due to the fact i play first 3rd person shooters i like 1440p on a 32inch curved screen because A. its not so low a resolution that a gun modal takes up 30% of the screen. and B in 4k some things like trying to use a sniper rifle, having a smaller target in your scope makes it harder. if you look at most twitch COD streamers they use 1080p 27inch monitors with high refresh and low latency. they can aim easier and be more accurate because objects are larger. so for myself the 1440p is butter zone, At 1440p the memory on a 3080 is enough. if i was trying to run something at 4k then yes i agree a 6900xt or 6800xt would be better because of the larger vram size. my previous build had a first gen titan x with 12 GB of gddr5 memory, in COD warzone only 9GB of vram was used at 1440p.

that does not make any sense.

6900XT is noticebally faster than 3080 or 3090 at 1080p. it is also faster than 380 and 3090 in 1440p. but in 4k or 9k rtx 3090 is noticebally faster.

this is due to faster VRAM and higher bandwith in the rtx 3080 and 3090
