First mirrorless

Hello, I am looking to get into photography and I would like to know what camera i should get for under £300 as a beginner. I only need 1080p and clean hdmi out would be nice (no power on time limit too) as I plan to also use this to stream. Thanks in advance. (Used is fine, been looking at amazon renewed)

The best camera for you, is the one you will use, because it fits into your hands nicely, and is logically laid out for you.

I used a Nikon D2x for outdoor concert events.

Lugging that metal around for a weekend (plus a 7-200mm f/2.8 all-metal lens) was murder.

So I switched to a mirrorless rig.

Light as a feather.

And completely impractical because it was too small. Ended up giving it away after one event and going back to my Nikon.

So nevermind the reviews, go out and hold one, see if it fits.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Ok, thanks, will continue looking into amazon renewed as that seems promising for my purposes. Will make sure to use the return to try more cameras.

Dunno where you are, but there should be some camera clubs or shops where you can get a hands-on feel for them.

As I stated I am also wanting to get I to photography but as I said that is a plus and not a must. Only must is that it is under £300, been looking for renewed as new is too expensive;-;. Again I am only asking as I am not very well versed in what cameras are good and I am only just beginning.

It doesn't have to be anything new, just something to begin with. I can however get a body and lens separate for £500 total.

its old from 2012, it uses a much older sensor, believed to be a GH3 sensor
G-80 is a 2016 body based on a 2015 sensor
MFT senors changed a lot in those years

Couldn't find a g80 and lens within my price range however I did find a sony a6000 under £500 with lens https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00IE9XHE0/ref=psdcmw_430660031_t1_B013QWFKZ8?th=1&psc=1

I doubt the lens will be that good but until I can get a separate lens il put up with it. Is it a good deal?

Made a mistake, will add a new suggestion.

Edit: Suppose the Canon EOS m200 ticks the boxes while being only a bit above budget (if you can find a kit with lens). It has clean HDMI output for streaming, and has a fairly large sensor for photography.

I found both the m200 and an eos 2000d for similar prices. Thoughts? Just making sure I dont get a bad camera.

the Canon's you're looking at aren't bad camera's and really you're the only true judge of that.  Personally I prefer Canon's UI and functions over other company's out in the market.  I'm still running a Canon XSi (450D) and a  50D w/ a MagicLantern video mod.  I have had the pleasure of using the older M series and loved it for a small run and gun when needed.  I would almost as friend's and family if they have camera's you could try out and play with for a day (hoping for a variety of models) so you can find something that you like in the hand and UI.  It's very hard to recommend a camera since we're not you and don't know (from your perspective) how far you're wanting to dive into photography/etc.  Thanks to advancements in tech there is no such thing as a completely bad camera for those who want to get started (within the main company's in the market).

Funny thing is even w/ my DSLR's I always end up just using the camera I carry around in my pocket the most as it's easier to get out and ready, which is my phone.

Ah, that's my problem. My phone is a budget phone from 2017 so the camera is not great. Even post processing doesn't help. However I have used a friends phone before (I think it was an s9) and it was alot better. And that's where i started to want to do photography, I am only a beginner so used and older cameras are fine. I've been looking at canon d5 mk ii cameras and an ef lens and that brings me to about £400 for the whole setup, is it a good deal? I like the idea of having a full frame camera.

A 5D mk II is a solid camera, especially since they can be found for good prices thanks to the newer versions out now.
