Is this compatable? (Without a different CPU?)

The STRIX X470-F does NOT have USB Bios Flash-Back meaning you would require a R 3xxx series CPU, possibly even R 2xxx series if this motherboard is old stock, in order to update to a beta Bios that would allow support for a R 5xxx series CPU.

 

I recommend a B550 motherboard instead, new stock will support the CPU out of the box.

The Asus B550-F is a very good motherboard, and if the Bios is not updated you can do so without a CPU as it has USB Bios Flash-Back.

On PcPartPicker.com, it says that the Asus x470-F is compatible with a ryzen 7 5800x but if I look at other motherboards it says I need a different CPU to update the bios?

Is what Pcpartpicker saying about the x470-F true? the only other motherboard I see that is compatible with this CPU without updating the bios without a different CPU is the Asus Dark Hero VIII.

And does anyone know how much ARGB fan headers there are on this motherboard and if they are 3Pin 5v? Or Rgb 3 pin 5v headers?

That motherboard doesn't allow for BIOS flashing without a CPU. Why not go for one of these?

The easiest way to tell if a motherboard supports what your looking for would be to look at the rear IO of the motherboard. They'll have a little push button that says BIOS Flashback, Q Flash Plus or a few others depending on what brand they are.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.
