In stress test only 1 core is hitting 100 degrees.

Because its not thermal throttling !

It will be fine if you keep it under 100.

Most laptops tend to teeter on the edge of thermal throttling anyway.

That said, unless you do heavy CPU on the reg, like rendering or whatever, you won't likely see those temps in real life usage.

I am using Core i5-8600. After changing stock Intel CPU cooler to Deepcool 3rd party CPU air cooler. In stress test only 1 core is hitting 100 degrees.

All other cores are around 75 to 80. And CPU is not thermal throttling its keeping clock speed on 4.1 GHz.

Any Solutions ??

your cooler is most likely not seated correctly.

as stated above the contact may not good. either do to lack of mounting pressure, uneven mounting pressure, uneven heat pipes, or not enough thermal paste. I'd start with making sure mounting pressure is even and increasing the mounting pressure. if that doesn't help then remove it and check TIM spread and for uneven heat pipes.

as others mentioned, prob. weird contact.

slowly tighten your screws in x pattern, going over a few times and not 100% on each corner on your first pass.

Well, 8th gen intel still used toothpaste. It's possible your TIM sucks.

Delidding would help, presuming everything else is as you insist.

Well it's kind of one of those no going back kind of things. If you crack the lid open to check, you have to replace the TIM anyway.

That involves removing the IHS.

I did it to my 8700k without much difficulty, but I had the rockit kit.

Vast improvement, but unless you're overclocking i don't know if it's really worth it. If that's stock operation, I doubt the TIM is responsible for the temperatures.

You probably aren't screwing the cooler down right.

Did you make sure to remove film (if any) from base of new cooler?

Possibly new cooler is just defective (uneven coldplate)

I would just go through and remove all the old paste from cpu and cooler, replace with new paste (make sure to use enough) and tighten it down per instructions. Make sure you're using the correct mounting hardware for your socket.

Needs a delid. My 8700K core #3 from 0 so the forth core ran hotter than the rest like that.

It does appear in that test you're presently throttling though - you're at 100c and your clocks are dropping to 3.7ghz. That's close to baseclock.

I do not believe (although it's possible) that your CPU TIM is SO bad that it can't even handle stock operating temperatures on a decent cooler like what you have - I would expect that on maybe the Intel stock cooler. Also given you state it was better before the new cooler install.

I personally believe you still have a problem with your mounting.

can you remove the cooler and take picture of the thermal paste spread?

then clean it and check for uneven heat pipes. especially the ones in the middle.

do you have extra thermal paste?

you'll want some to do this.

also keep in mind benchmarking will push you CPU harder than anything else you do normally so you wont be hitting those temps on a day to day use.
