Specs:

5600x

Rx 580

MSI X570 a pro

Issue: I can boot into windows just fine but when I try to get into the bios, I get no video output.

What I've tried: I tried latest bios build (HC), most recent "supported" build (HB), resetting CMOS with jumper and changing the battery. Can get into BIOS on my 3600 just fine. Tried with hdmi and display port on different monitors.

More info: I just upgraded from AMD 3600 to the 5600x. When booting for first time, I get boot error light and restart computer. Boots straight into windows. When I reset and try booting into bios or into boot selector, there's no video output (keyboard and mouse lights are on and no error lights on mobo). I also tried getting into bios from windows (shift+restart) method but same issue.

At a loss now

Update bios and try again. If you have multiple monitors, then maybe try connecting only one, when PC is off.

Tried the latest first. Then 2nd latest. Should I try latest again? (Not including the beta version). Have tried the monitors in all sorts of ways (and the monitors do work going into bios with the 3600)

Try clearing CMOS, by removing battery, when PSU is off. Flash BIOS 7C37vHC through USB flashback. 🙂

Got it updated to HC through bios flashback. Still can't access. Removed boot m.2 drive (still have hdd connected via sata) but no luck.

Possible but I'm running on AMD 5600x, no agpu. Mobo does have an hdmi out but it shouldn't get signal? I'll try it though

Wont work without an APU 🙂
