I need help... mATX Case?

Anonymous_Yee

Help Guys...

I am helping my friend with getting some things for his new computer, and so I'm kinda running a little over budget. Can anyone recommend me some cases under 125 dollars USD? Also, since I am running kinda low on budget, what should I downgrade/cheap out on? Here is a link to my current specs. https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder-intel.aspx?load=784ff2f3-d0f1-4d25-9586-424743bceec8

Don't I need thermal paste? Tbh the max I can go is 2100 including taxes. Also I'm just trying to get a smaller case. ATX seems a bit too big for where I'm going to put it.

Most mATX cases aren't that much smaller than a mid tower ATX case.

No, you don't need thermal paste.

I was thinking of changing to a Lian Li 205 instead of my Cooler Master one. Should I do it?

I'd see if GamersNexus has a review of it. It looks like an airflow nightmare, but looks can be deceiving.

Yeah ik, just a question what other things should I downgrade, I don't rly want to downgrade on peripherals anymore, I want my friend to have some good peripherals. Also what should I upgrade on? This is the updated link now. https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder-intel.aspx?load=784ff2f3-d0f1-4d25-9586-424743bceec8

You could see if the 3600 is on discount or a bundled deal.

You could look at Intel, they have some pretty good budget options if he's only gaming.

There really isn't anything else you can downgrade. GPU maybe, depending on his monitor and games he plays.

Sorry my computer crashed (im on a chromebook smh) so yeah. I might think about getting the 3600X, because he isn't only gaming on the computer cuz he has a job from home, I want him to at least have a AMD processor. I think that I might downgrade to a cheaper 3070 or a 3060 or 3060ti idk yet. But I think I should downgrade to the 3600X but spend a hint more money on the PSU, I want at least 750 W in case he upgrades his cpu or gpu in the future.

You know Intel processors are just as, if not more capable right? If his job doesn't really require video editing or something like that it may very well be the smarter choice.

@dizmoShould I go with the 10600k? Its 100 Dollars cheaper cuz it doesn't have the included cooler. But with the faster base clock speed, I think its worth it.

Take a look at the i5 11400, IIRC it's not that far behind the 5600x in most games at almost half the price.

I still think that the 10600k seems to be better. The 11400 is like very different compared to the 10600k. I think that the 10600k is still better even for the different prices. Its only 30 dollars more, but with way better performance.

The 11400 is most of the time faster than the 10600k. What do you mean by very different?
