R9 390 cooling mod help

Harry9856

Hey everyone just wondering if anyone can help Ive had to go back to using my r9 390 after my gtx 1070 gave up and won't display anymore (great card as well 2202 core 700 mem on it on stock voltage no mods required) but I can't afford a new card and in turn can't afford to replace my 1070, so here I am.

What I want to know is do I need the correct block for these r9 390 cards cause I noticed that the heatsinks and water blocks the are ment for these cards have a raised center to meet the die and Im not sure if I would get away with slapping my old corsair 240m aio onto it with that having just a flat cold plate.

Any information would be a great help and before anyone asks I want to do this cause the card is a furnace and is giving me ear ache cause of how fast the fans need to run to keep the thing from hitting 90 degrees all the time and I do have valid results for my 1070 as a BTW if anyone has a palit 1070 or 1080 that's dead could you message if you're in the uk
