PNY Graphics Cards

I was able to get the PNY rtx3070 8gb GDDR6 PCI Express XLR8 Gaming edition backordered off Office Depot. I haven’t heard good things about PNY. How bad is this gpu and Should I cancel the order?

Not the worst ever but it's not great. It's fine, the GPU itself is great, the card isn't so much. Still, RTX 3070. Pretty hard to turn down. Tell you what, I'll buy it for $50 over MSRP if you don't like it, kek.

PNY has long been in the game. IIRC they were (are?) the manufacture of Nvidia's founders edition blower cards.

It's okay, didn't do extensive testing on it though

The last PNY card I used was a GeForce FX 5200. It was pure, straight up, absolute garbage.

NVidia makes the GPU core, all PNY would make is the board.

Right, I was saying PNY makes the boards/coolers on the cards, not the GPU themselves. NVIDIA themselves doesnt even do that, they just design them. They're fabbed by either Global Foundries or TSMC, or more recently, Samsung.

PNY makes things according to the spec, and that means minimum spec, they make good cards when they need to(i.e. quadro) and bad stuff when they’re allowed to.

 

The card should work but it’s better to invest in exotic water cooling for it down the line if you want anything more than stock.

It was maybe 2-3 weeks ago when they allowed backorders. Still a chance the order will get canceled though

I have a 3080 from PNY. It's decent. The air cooler was alright, but i'm currently running a waterblock.
