Hello, I need help I bought a pc that has no graphics card and storage is it ok if I plug it in

I mean you can, but it won't exactly do much...

Do you know what CPU you have in it?
It should be okay to plug in if it has a integrated graphics card. Then it will show something on your screen. If it doesn't have the integrated GPU, then you would need one.

You do need a storage though, or else you can't run any operating system. So try to install storage and WIndows (or any other OS) on it first.

It is a ryzen 3700x cpu

Will it break anything if I plug it in even though i have loose cables

It won't do anything. It does not have integrated graphics so nothing will happen part from the fans spinning and it turning on and off forever.

Probably not as long as you built it correctly.

Yes. Also quote people so they see your replies. Still with a gpu it won't be usable as all you can do is go into the bios or maybe run linux off of a usb stick. A cheap 120gb ssd like a wd blue or mx500 is like 22$ so maybe get that. Don't recommend such small drives and that you at least get a 250gb one for 5-8$ more but you'd at least be able to install windows.

Oh, I spent my almost 2 year savings on this so I’ll need to save up a little more to get a gpu and hd or ssd

Will a gtx 660 super clocked work and ill get a cheap hdd

When you get a gpu you could boot linux from a USB flash drive in the meantime.

Ok im going to hope I can get a gpu for regular price and a cheap hdd then i can try that, i just dk if the pc even works so im kind of scared but I trust the guy who sold it to me so i have no doubt that it would work perfectly

If all the cables required by the motherboard are plugged in correctly, which is a simple youtube video to check, then you’re fine.

 

If it was plugged in incorrectly, then installing the missing pieces wouldn’t help

please do not boot off a cheap hdd with a ryzen 7 3700x (I mean you technically can). If you are on a low budget, first get a small ssd, and you can get the hard drive later when the ssd starts filling up.

Ok thanks for all the help im kind of bummed out that I need a gpu i thought it was only if you wanted to play games.

Im just going to get a ssd and a 3000 series card so that I can enjoy playing on my April break, does Best Buy sell them i was watching some videos and the 3060 ti is only 550 plus tax cad or a 3070 witch is a little more and ill get a 1 tb ssd for 100 or something I will just borrow some money from my brother and pay him back later
