Hello!
I'm in  the making of my new pc but i've now stumbled upon a minor issue with the fan headers!
I have a fan hub from corsair in which i'm holding most of the fans in but some of my fans are not compatible with the fan hub. Can i have some of the fans connected to the mother board and some connected to the fan hub at the same time or do i have to choose just 1?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ||| GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC ||| Motherboard: Asus Rog Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ||RAM: G.Skill Trident Z DDR-4400 CL16 ||| PSU: Corsair HX Platinum 1200 W 80+ ||| Case: Lian Li - O11 Dynamic Evo ||| Storage: 2x Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB NVME SSD ||| Cooling: (CPU: EKWB RGB 360 AIO) (Case-Fans: Lian Li SL-120 Infinity)

Are you talking about the Commander Pro hub or a different hub from Corsair?

Assuming you are talking about the Commander pro; yes you can connect some fans to the Corsair hub and others to your motherboard. The only 'issue' is that you would have two places to control your fan speeds from (your BIOS and Corsair iCUE).

If you are talking about an RGB hub of theirs, it's a whole different story.

yeah i'll have to connect some of the fans into the mother board and some into the commander pro, although i think i might have another problem. The fans are rgb for the ones that i have on the mother board and so are the ones on the corsair commander pro. Do i need to get an extra rgb hub or something or will it be fine if i connect the rgb part into the motherboard and the actual fan into the corsair commander pro?

What fans or set(s) of fans are you getting exactly?

the thing is that it get's mixed due to my pre installed fans on the case. the only problem that i have rn is that my commander pro has no rgb hub so do i have to get that?

Right now all i can do is connect the rgb header to the motherboard and most of the fan into the fan hub.

Corsair RGB fans have two connectors:

PWM: to make them turn

RGB: for the lights

While the PWM connector can go straight into the Commander Pro, the RGB connector cannot. That goes through a hub (like the RGB FAN LED Hub, which comes with some two/three pack of fans).

To properly answer what you do or do not need I'd need to know what fans you have, what quantity and what controller(s) you have
