Alright guys I'm gonna try to provide as many details here as possible and I appreciate any type of reply

So I bought and assembled a new PC specs:

Ryzen 5 3600

Radeon RX 6700XT Sapphire Nitro+

Corsair Vengeance 3200 2x8GB

450 Motherboard

550W supply

running windows 10 pro

And heres my issue:

While running games (mw19 for reference) my gpu does not work on a stable full load. It drops to 10-20-50-60-70% etc. And I don't seem to be getting the most fps that my gpu should be capable of.. Now the interesting thing is when I up the resolution to full QHD, the gpu will pretty stably run at 98% (as I would expect) and maintain a stable and high fps count (80-100). It's just I've found that when the gpu doesn't have that high a workload it would just "relax" at the cost of true performance and fps count, which bothers me a bit.

Now I know some might say it's power supply, cpu bottleneck or overheating but I'm not sure because ingame the cpu runs at about 50-70%, Card temp at max 70C and the card seems perfectly capable of drawing all the power it needs as it runs at 98% when running QHD and gets the average performance mark for the model when running benchmarks.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers more than once but it didn't do anything unfortunately.

Any ideas?

AMD reports GPU spiky usage like that afaik

Is that CPU usage overall usage or single thread usage??

Because most games are single thread performance limited rather than 100% the entire CPU

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

That's the funny thing about current gen gpus,  they work better at higher resolutions (within reason) as that actually takes away the burden of the CPU to deliver the frames so the GPU can work more "freely".

That said my GPU is also lazy,  often only runs at ~1000mhz, but I still get high frames,  I actually like that, saves energy and is almost silent, it will however boost if it needs to...

I think you should try playing at higher resolution and settings,  let the GPU work,  and also keep an eye on CPU per core usage and temps overall.

The direction tells you... the direction

What was your previous gpu?

Ram is running stable at 3200 MT/s?

Make and model of the psu?

psu is a xilence xp550r9

ram runs fine

and it's interesting you would ask what gpu i used bc I didn't state that anywhere lol I said new PC. Actually I did have a different GPU installed before my new  one  had arrived and I had suspected it might have smt to do with my problem. I had a Sapphire R7 265.

I'm not sure, this is just what the AMD metrics say. But I think it shows the util of the whole CPU.

Use msi afterburner or task manager running in the background with graph changed to logical processor to find out

Very low quality Gold certified psu with LLC. I would get a better one with a 800 bucks gpu.

Did you remove radeon drivers with DDU before installing the 6700 XT?

I really don't think it's power related.

yes I'd adjusted the frequency to 3200 MHz in the bios menu

No I didn't I just uninstalled them regularly and installed them back a couple of times. Does that make a difference?
