Yes it does. So if I get a HDMI to DP adapter I would be able to plug my second monitor in down where the first one is or?

if your monitor supports DP in, does it come with a DP to DP cable?

or else you can get this cable

you have 2 options:

- use DP to DP from your GPU to your monitor, required DP to DP cable (suggested solution, if either one of your monitor accepts DP)

- use DP from GPU to HDMI to your monitor, requires DP to HDMI cable

Hey everyone, im a long time gamer but at the same time, im not super "tech savy". I bought a second monitor and I have it all setup on my desk but I cant seem to get Windows to detect it.

I believe my main monitor is hooked up to the GPU(?) but theres only 1 port there that takes a monitor hookup so I hooked up the second monitor just in the HDMI port.

This is my PC: https://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-Xtreme-i5-10400F-GeForce-GXiVR8060A10/dp/B08FBK2DK5/ref=sr_1_19?dchild=1&keywords=gaming+PC&qid=1616975678&sr=8-19

Thanks for any help!

The one on the board is unused because your processor doesnt have integrated graphics. Get a display converter from Displayport to HDMI.

hey welcome to the forum!

remember to quote or mention ( @Moonzy) when replying so that i'll see it

as for for query, can we get some photos so we get what you mean?

if you're plugged into the motherboard it wont work, because you dont have igpu

but your gpu should have more than 1 port, just maybe different kinds of port

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

yea you cant use the port on the motherboard as your CPU is an F chip, meaning there's no video processing done on the chip, and therefore not on the motherboard

you'll need to use DP to HDMI cables, or just DP to DP if your monitor supports it

I really do know very little about the technical side of PC's so I don't mean to be a bother but is there any chance you could link me to the proper cord im supposed to buy on Amazon or whatever? May seem dumb, but I just wanna be extra safe.

Yes it does. So if I get a HDMI to DP adapter I would be able to plug my second monitor in down where the first one is or?
