No. Charging a battery when it’s full will not damage the battery. It’s a myth, just like the "don't use it when it's plugged it".

Though both are basses in fact.

Not charging it when it is full is because it's needleasly using a power adaptor, which can sometimes catch fire if they get too hot (like it's in a pile of clothes, etc)

Not using it when it is charging is supposed to drain and refill the battery constantly, but it doesn't. Electrical engineers are sneaky bastards, and it just switchEs to running off wall power it's plugged in. All extra goes to filling the battery.
