I want to jailbreak my iOS 14.5 device...

If you have an A11 or older (Iphone X or older) then you can jailbreak using checkra1n. Otherwise, you'll have to wait.

Does that mean the same if it were a XS?

No, that has an A12 so you will have to likely wait a bit. Disable automatic updates and don't update your phone, and check every week or so.

You'll have to wait for a jailbreak to be released for your current device and version as @curiousmind34 said you'll want to disable automatic updates otherwise you'll always be ahead of the jailbreaks. Once the right version is released a simple YouTube tutorial is all you'll need.

You can't.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

14.5 isn't out yet? iOS 14.4.2 is the latest. Unless you're running a beta, in which case downgrade to an older OS version that's still signed (14.4.1 is the oldest as of right now: https://ipsw.me/iPhone11,2). Never a good idea to run the latest iOS if you want to jailbreak.

14.4.2 is the lastest supported for jailbreaking, but not for the XS, only the 6S/SE and up to the X once an update releases. iOS 14.3 is supported for the Unc0ver jailbreak but that version of iOS is not signed, so you can't downgrade to it.

You'll want to stick to the lowest possible iOS version and just wait for a jailbreak that works, if one is released for the latest version then you upgrade.
