Cpu temp reached 38 - 50 at 1300 RPM. Is it normal?

Go to solution Solved by bowrilla,

Ryzen is known for rather big idle temp jumps. Some background process kicks in and makes the temps go up. Nothing to worry.

Hello. This is my first time i'm here.

I just got DeepCool Gammaxx 400 v2 for my PC and Arctic Cooling MX4 2 days ago. After I installed the cooler, my CPU temperature reached 38 - 50 degrees Celsius when idle / load at 1300 RPM (I used ASRock Fan-Tastic Tuning). Is it normal or not?

Sorry for my bad English.

Thank You.

Current PC Build: Asrock A320 HDV R4.0 | AMD Ryzen 3400G | PowerColor RX 550 | Geil EVO DDR4 2666 8x2 | DeepCool Gammaxx 400 V2 | Samsung SSD 860 EVO | WD Blue 2.5 and 3.5

We're kind of missing a lot of information here. Like cpu model/pc specs, case, fan setup, case fan speeds, ...

38-50 is kind of a huge range for an idle temperature. Honestly there should not be that much variance if your computer is truly at idle. Are you sure that nothing else is going on?

Either way, intel or amd, 50°C max at idle is completely fine. It's more important that it doesn't get too hot under load.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Yeah. My PC doesn't get 50°C very often. Sometimes the temperature drops to 39°C at 1300 RPM, sometimes it goes up to 45°C - 50°C at 1300 RPM.

No need for being sorry. Most people were a bit startled about that at some point. Just make sure it stays cool enough under load. Sub 80 under load is good and there's not that much to be gained from having it sub 70 or even sub 60.
