Hello, I need help building a NAS. The price needs to be under $600 CAD and ran by AMD. It can either be a NAS unit or NAS computer (if that makes any sense).
The case needs to hold 8 Hard drives and have 2 5.25 slots.
The motherboard needs to have room for 2 Rivo PCIe SATA Card, 8 Port with 8 SATA Cable, SATA Controller Expansion Card and needs to support RAID.
If you have PC part Picker links for canada then send them my way.

Edit, i have a low powered GPU for it already!

Is there a reason why you need amd here, intel is often the better choice due to the igpu is included.

Why those cards. Id use onboard sata if you can, esp for that coast, otherwise, go LSI/broadcom

What os do you plan to use? id use software raid here.

What newtwork speed? How many TB do you need? Does $600 include drives?

I do currently have a GPU already ready for it. I should include it in the post

The main onboard sata will be for the main drives and used for docker, plex and storing my camera files for editing.

I was thinking freenas or something, but if you have any ideas send them my way!

Currently its only 1gb/second, at least 6TB right now but will be adding more and the drives don't include the $600.

How many drives are you planning on adding? Id probalby do only 4 bays and do something like 4x14TB HDDs.

Im a fan of proxmox, and create vms for different services, and you can use all the same ZFS features.
