8700k overclocking temps stock

Its on stock everything testing to see what kind of temps Im getting before overclocking. It looks like at load the vcore is 1.26v because its on auto and its the normal intel boost which is at 4.4ghz. Im also using a Noctua DH15.

D15 should be cool as a cucumber on a stock 8700k.

Wife's 8700 nonk will hang out all day at 4.3ghz (same as stock 8700k) on a dirt cheap arctic freezer 33 - in the 60s during something like A64.

Reinstall the cooler imo.

So im just getting into overclocking and put a Noctua dh15 on my 8700k. I ran a test of Cinebench to get a benchmark on stock with intel turbo before starting and I'm not sure why my temps are so high at 100% load. Obviously the 8700k runs hot, but not sure if I have headroom to start. Idle temps are anywhere between 30-33c. Any help would be appreciated.

My case is NZXT S340 Elite.

Motherboard is Asrock Extreme 4

8700k has toothpaste under the IHS, but you probably don't need 1.26v for 4.3ghz, i wouldn't oc it much further though, even keeping at the same voltage while increasing clocks will increase temps, you could try 1.2v and see how far you can push it.

Yes a proper de-lid give you an easy 10c drop in temps. +1 to the toothpaste!

I delidded my 8700k but before that I was able to adequately cool it at 4.8ghz with a cryorig h7 quad lumi.

What's your actual vcore at, what kind of load are those temperatures with?

D15 should be cool as a cucumber on a stock 8700k.

Reseatting worked. Not sure if I didnt put enough thermal paste or screwed it down unevenly, but temps are now 56c under 100% load and 28-29c idle.
