Weird image problem

Go to solution Solved by MuPPet_bnt,

I think I found the culprit.

I was going to remove and re-install my browser and found out I have something installed called "Mage Browse", some ad-ware program (I probably installed it accidentally when i wasn't paying attention). So I removed it, did a reboot and everything seems to be working fine now.

Anyway, thanks guys, for taking the time to look at my problem.

Hey guys

So I have this weird problem, when I want to view an image, on reddit for example, the image is all distorted and corrupt.

As can be seen here : post-65016-0-05052200-1395763714.jpg post-65016-0-16900400-1395763716_thumb.j

It does not happen with every image.

It also happend in League of legends : post-65016-0-55059400-1395763713.png

Does anyone have any idea when is going on? and how I can fix it? it's quite annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Also try  new drivers, are you using a GPU or on-board graphics/ what is your system specks.

I use a GPU. As far as I know I have all the latest drivers.

My specs :

  • Intel Core i5 4570
  • motherboard: MSI B85M-E45
  • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB
  • GPU: Radeon HD 7950
  • PSU: Corsair CX600M

well it unlikely the vga/cable if it just images or hardware unless you have some bad cores on the gpu, that just happen to be used allot for images.

I would replace the driver, do a full unistall/driver removal then reinstall them.

you can try in pingtest.net for example, but you've to give permission to use java

pingtest.net didn't work, it was unable to do the packet loss test for some reason. So I googled for another methode and found a way to do it through Command prompt( ping google.com -t ) but it said i didn't have any packet loss.

I would replace the driver, do a full unistall/driver removal then reinstall them.

I'll try to reinstall the drivers tomorrow, hopefully that will help.

Ok, so re-installing my drivers did not help.

I have also noticed some other weirdness when i tried to re download the latest drivers. it seems finishing downloads goes super slow! everything goes at normal speeds when i stared the download, but then it just sits there when it gets to 99.99%. It only finishes after about 5-10min sometimes it takes even longer. I tried it in a different browser and the same thing happened there. I also tried different downloads from different sites, same thing happened there.

I'm just guessing here, but could it be my SSD that is causing the problem ? I have a Kingston 120GB SSD where my OS, Adobe programs and browsers are installed. Maybe i'll help if i install my browsers on my second drive?

yes, i have not seen any distorted images in the ones i have on my pc.

What browser?

A small chance but try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser and see if that makes a difference?

From there I would check other browsers to see if you have the same issue or reinstall if you haven't already.
