umm.. I have a warning message in my pc part picker should I be concerned

Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

That would be if you had a 3000 or 5000 CPU. You would need to update the bios to use the CPU.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

What motherboard and CPU are you using?

That motherboard supports that CPU since a BIOS version released in May of 2019. Basically everything on store shelves should be newer and that and would work with the CPU.

Sometimes.  It’s less often true than it used to be. Which individual board matters which is why people are asking.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

yes it will work, if the store's stock is newer than 2019 which it should be realistically.

If the box has a “ryzen 3000 ready” sticker on it then it’s a “yes”   The issue is the board will work IF IT HAS THE CORRECT BIOS ON IT. If it’s got the sticker it does.  If it doesn’t have the sticker it still might.  It sort of depends on how old the stock is most old stock with old drivers pre-installed is gone. Boards with 32mb bios chips should also be fine regardless
