Any tips on calibrating my TV? It's a Samsung HU7000, has 2-point white balance adjust, and even options for a custom colour space.

I don't have access to my Datacolour Spyder 4 Pro right now, unfortunately. I'm trying to do it via a comparison image (my OLED laptop) or the Colour Grab smartphone app, which unfortunately depends on the colour accuracy of the camera. Phones in the house are my Moto G7 Power and my dad's iPhone SE 2016.

Any ideas? It doesn't have to be 100% accurate but something in the ballpark will do.

You'll need your colorimeter for the fine adjustments, but the warmest color tone (Warm2) will get you close to 6500k.

IIRC the KU7000 and the HU7000 are very different, released several years apart. Also, isn't Warm2 too warm? Sure doesn't look like 6500k. Do you have a similar TV?

I don't have a Samsung TV, so I am not familiar with the model lines. I searched HU, but only found results for KU.

If you are used to looking at 7500k, then 6500k is going to look too warm, but that's why I said you will want to get your colorimeter. Most LED displays will measure ~8000-8500k at factory default settings, so it takes quite a large adjustment to get to 6500k.

In a pinch, you can compare a white screen with a piece of bright white paper in daylight.

Sounds good, yeah I wish I had my colourimeter with me. I guess the cheaper option would be to download some colour test pictures and buy some colour swatches and do it all by eye.

I'm gonna try and eyeball it using my Alienware 13R3's display, which is calibrated. It's an OLED screen vs an IPS TV so there's no getting it exact but I should be able to get it close enough.

Calibration requires a meter. Anything else is not calibration.

I already mentioned that I don't have access to my Colourimeter. Calibration snobbery is the last thing I want in this thread.

Like I said this isn't calibration so you shouldn't be using that word. What you are doing is basic Setup for which you can find plenty of info online. That will more than get you in the "ballpark" as you requested.

Using a cell phone camera or eyeballing is more likely to make things worse so I'm not sure what you are going for.
