Its found importance recently on the AMD side as the newest CPU's weren't compatible with motherboards we were buying and it helped a lot of people out. On the Intel side with how frequently you have to upgrade motherboards, probably less important but its nice when something BIOS related goes wrong.

TBH i never bothered with it until just recently updating my B550 board for Ryzen 5000.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

I was looking for a motherboard to buy and I see that some have bios flashback, is it important to have it? The motherboard will be for i5 10400

Well you really only need it if you have a CPU that#s not compatible with the motherboards bios version. So as mentioned above it's more useful in an AMD system where it's more likely you might buy a CPU that's new enough that the motherboards in stock at retailers might not be up to date enough.

For intel systems I'd say it's much less likely it'll be of use.
