Dell optiex 790 front panel pinouts - New Builds and Planning - Linus Tech Tips

im trying to put a dell optiplex 790 into a cooler master masterbox case and am looking for a adapter to convert the cases front panel conectors from the new case to something that can connect to the dells motherboard can u guys help me find such a adaptor.

Main Pc: CPU: ryzen 5 5600x  Motherboard: Msi b450 gaming plus max  RAM: 32gb corsair vengeance ddr4 3200mhz ram  GPU: Nvidia rtx 2070 SUPER 8gb Case:  cooler master td500   PSU: corsair 750watt bronze80+  Cooling: Kraken x53 aio Storage: wdblack snd750,3tb wd blue hdd

Adding onto this, OP, just get some male to female 2.54mm extensions and use those.

i have a atx psu so what ur saying is i hook up the front panel connectors to those exact pins and it should work?

In theory, as long as you don't fuck up the polarities of the LEDs, yes.

if i screw up will there be a change of bricking the mobo

Not really. If anything the most likely thing to die would be the LEDs. Luckily for you that picture has the polarities on it. 😛

Any generic "how to plug in front panel IO" is all you need. It's very straight forward, all connectors for your front panel will be labelled, all you have to do is plug them into the corresponding front panel connectors on your motherboard.
