B550 Or X570

Quick question. I have 2 motherboards on me right now. A ROG Strix b550-f, and a gigabyte x570 gaming X. I run a ryzen 5 3600 (do not overclock it) 5 fans, and a RTX 3070.

Which motherboard should I use? The ROG has alot of benefits it seems because it is a higher end B550, compared to my lower end X570

Unless you have multiple pcie 4.0 storage devices, use the B550. B550 only has 1 4.0 nvme slot.

My primary system: Core I7 10700k, 32 gb Trident Z RGB ram@3200mhz, EVGA GTX 970 SSC (will upgrade), NZXT N7 Z490 motherboard (Black), Samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB SSD, NZXT C850 PSU, Hyper 212 EVO cooler (getting new water cooler soon), NZXT H510i case.

My secondary system: Core I7 4820k, 16 gb quad channel 1600mhz ram, GTX 780 reference, Asus PX79LE, SK Hynix GOLD s31 500gb SSD, some 10 yr old Cooler Master 750w psu, Hyper 212, old Cooler Master case.

Laptop: Lenovo l380 yoga I5 8250u, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd storage)

Are they both pcie gen 4 drives? If so, go with the x570. Otherwise the b550 is a better board.

I think both are 3.0, I have a SN750 1TB, and a HP ex900 250gb as just a boot drive ssd + 1 HDD

Also don't want to take away alot of your time. However. I'm considering just slapping 2 gpus in there for mining on the side when I am not gaming, However I seen this. (image) and am not sure if it is worth it? Just would like to hear an educated persons thoughts on this

And will it have to share lanes since 2x gpus and 2x m.2?

You have 1 3.0 and 1 4.0 drive. You could use the B550, or, if you plan on upgrading to another 4.0 drive, use the x570.

that would work fine on B550

only one of the GPUs would be connected to the CPU lanes, make that your gaming GPU. A secondary GPU will be connected to the chipset, not a big deal for mining.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Mining cards don't need much bandwidth and can run off 1x slots. It won't be a problem for mining.
