So I just rewatched (well, started to rewatch) the segment in the WAN show where they first announced it (March 6th). Linus said, and I quote (minute 35:45): "It may be that in the future, I will take us over to, maybe, a different channel like Short Circuit, for example, but it's quite likely that this is all gonna be on the Linus Tech Tips channel."
To me that sounds like Linus would maybe announce it before they release on their other channels, but he did not give any guarantee, afaik.

 

So it might be safe to ignore the other channels for VAG. Might be.

Mine hasn't updated from "Pending" but according to Nick's twitter, they've already handed them off to Fedex and it's all up to them at this point to provide updates. I'm praying it will only take maybe a week longer but I imagine there are some extra hurdles like clearing customs. I bought most of my components right after scoring this 5900x so I'm hoping I can still test them before the 30 day return period is over

At this moment I'm really desperate for any gpu (my prev one died) in reasonable price. Im planning to either GIVE away my cheaper PNY 2080super or sell the 2080s card for 4000NOK/480$/500$ when im getting myself a 3090 card in half a year if i save 380/400$ a month

 

Probably not gonna do the first, but rather the latter option but i'll have to see.. No idea if giving-away in these times is better than selling it cheap to a friend who could need it..
(All tho he's rocking an I7-4970K and my older R9 380 4GB, it would be a massive 50% upgrade for him lol)

 

Time will tell if this hellhole of a graphic cards market gets more stable.. Ive had the chance of getting a 3090 about 11 times now.. But taking up a 3300$ loan is something i dont want to do, after playing out of car-loan hehe

Mine went from "Shipment info sent to FedEx" to "International shipment release - Import" and then didn't update again until the day it was delivered earlier this week. Not the best tracking from FedEx.

A lot of people "don't have the time" due to work/school/familial responsibilities that don't allow them to be part of #notificationsquad.  And lottery type systems like Shuffle don't exist in Canada despite Newegg being very aware of the demand for such a system.  Retailers stopped taking backorders months ago too.  It's a bit crass to say "TFB, you can just wait then" for people who can't schedule their lives around YT uploads and don't have access to another alternative besides the F5 game.

Fam, you have a 2080 super... that's a brilliant card! It's more than fine for whatever you're playing. You admitted that you don't have a lot of savings. Why are you considering blowing $3k+ on a graphics card?

I understand your pain, I hope 3080ti will be released soon and I will be lucky enough to snatch something during that myself else I am screwed and my new 5600xt build will sit with lovely 970  But do understand that even though Linus is supporting the community it is still aimed to promote the channel. And random lottery is not doing so. He even said so in some of the wan shows

1440p RTX is garbage on a 2080super and im done playing on a cheaper 2080 super card, also seeing cyberpunk go to 22fps in third-person with medium-settings without RTX-enabled.. Probably just that i want decent performance on a shit-optimized game instead of having to haggle overclocking or minmax the card out.

 

Probably some more too, just want to be able to play with high-settings without seeing big drops in performance.

There are supposed to be at least 2 more drops: AMD and EVGA.

 

And to increase the chances of having more drops after that we probably should ask the GPU manufacturers (via social networks, contact forms, etc.) to support VAG.

For me I have it pretty good.  I have a lot of freedom and short of meetings or other tasks that take me away from my desk I'm pretty free to catch vids or stock drops.  But I have experienced and understand family life and having a job where you don't have free access to a computer, let alone signal for mobile data.  In this type of situation you might only get a couple hours at the end of a work day to hunt for parts.  I'm definitely happy LTT is doing drops at different times to try and reach everyone, it just sucks for those people if the single drop they are able to access doesn't have any of the parts they're looking for.  I don't think there's a solution for this that wouldn't make the available quantity of each part so small that it's not worth the effort to even try.

I think this is going to be the downfall for sure. Not everyone has a major budget, I have a $650ish budget, so my limits are 3060, 3060ti and barely 3070's or a 6800xt at its limit from AMD, so if you get a drop that is a 3080, 3090, your limited and end up missing an additional drop, but to even have that chance none-the-less is just awesome of LTT to do and the manufacturer to slate those cards in for this.

The 2080 would really bottleneck with a 4970K haha, he definitely needs an upgrade if he likes gaming

Yeah I was in the same boat, thing is I sold my 2080 Super after the announcement while it still had value (look at where we are now lmao) but before the shortage, then I was stuck for 7 months without a card

Have you considered that the Ryuzen 1700 might be bottlenecking RTX 2080 Super in Cyberpunk?

Doubt it, the age difference between a 2080 and a Ryzen 7 1700 is not that large, sure he'd get some FPS boost but it's probably not worth upgrading over, if he does get a 3090 then I'd say go for it.
I'm currently running a 8700K with a 3080 and I'll probably upgrade in the next generation or 2, although the 8700K isn't that much of a bottleneck either

I thought cyberpunk was cpu intensify. I have 3900x with 2080 and I have zero problems at 1440p  in every game I play. But I haven't tried cyberpunk yet.  I do a ton of research before I buy a videos card or any component. Because the problem may not be where I believe it is. Double check and triple check. I would be pissed at myself if I bought a 3090 and still had low FPS. If it is his cpu, he will need a new one and maybe a new motherboard and so on.

Hey, so I Just watched LTT video called "You Can ACTUALLY Buy This PC!" and Linus mentioned the verified gamer program. After trying to find how to sign up and take the test, I saw a forum post that he mentioned a link in one of his previous videos in the captions (I typically watch all his videos without captions so I didn't see it), after watching it through I found the link but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas if the program is still going on?
