Forums are hosted in datacenter located somewhere in Canada. LMG doesn't host external services from their office. IIRC even Minecraft was moved to external location.

You do know they have other servers at the office? plus the amount of PCs they have as well. Having an additional 2 servers wont make a difference.

the forum doesn't have many users at once, it could probably be hosted on a pretty low spec machine. just needs loads of storage.

Adding couple more dedicated servers to their server room wouldn't make significant impact. Not even for networking since they are on fiber. The reason is security and maintenance.

Yeah they're just hosted on the forum software's hosting platform. They likely just pay a monthly fee and the forum hosting and maintenance is taken care of. No reason for a media company to be hosting a forum on site.

No... AFAIK this is incorrect. I don't know where or which provider forums are on, but AFAIK IPS doesn't provide platform, just software suite to be installed.
