What things that I can do on an iPhone 6s?

Currently got an iPhone 6s (for free, hehe) from a friend of mine. Said it rather be usable on me than being a unusable 'junk' (she got a XR) on her hand lol

This phone still in (pretty) good condition, just need a battery replacement as it's on 69% (yeet, seriously) battery health.

 

I'm using a Redmi Note 8 as my daily driver (yet even the secondhand price of this iPhone's (in good condition) more expensive than the brand new price of this Note 8 lol). Recently I migrated most of my social media on this iPhone simply because I wanted to daily drive it, and turns out the small form of the iPhone's kind of comfortable on my hand (and it's lighter), and as my Note 8 are getting kind of sluggish lately (MIUI 12 made it kind of worse). Updated it to iOS 14.4, felt smoother than iOS 13 it installed before. Even tbh it felt kind of better than my Redmi Note 8, despite it's age.

 

Somehow.... At least, what things (or applications) that I can do/install on this phone? I'm definitely would change the battery later.

I asked this simply because I just kind of... Wanna try the good potential of what iPhone offers, even on a half-of-decade phone, as a long-time Android user for lots of years.

 

I still use both phone, btw. As I don't really wanna move my financial accounts to the iPhone (as I have to re-register it again).

I can’t remember if it’s still usable as a phone or not.  My memory is the 6s is still updated but that is either ended or going to end very soon.  I’ve got a 7+ that will reach that point shortly. There’s nothing wrong with the phone really except that it’s going to be EOLed soon.  If it was an android phone it would be long since dead.  When it stops being updated it stops being secure and should no longer be let near any communications.  To make it do anything else it first need to be rooted.  I’m not familiar with the process of rooting an iphone6 myself

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I have mine dedicated as a smart interface for my stereo so I can swap between Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, and Youtube music as it still has the 3.5mm audio jack. I also replaced the apple logo with a self illuminated RGB one and bumped the battery up to a 4250mah size. For software I suggest jailbreaking it as the options are plentiful

Welp, I'm well aware if this phone wouldn't useful for long-term use anyway. As long as it's good for Instagram story record (so far iPhone devices got the far plus for this than any Android-based phone) and good enough for social media, I'd use it.

Instagram is internet.  Can’t be used for that after security updates stop.  Has to be totally offline.  Good as maybe some sort of remote control with tweaking, or a stand in for an ardueno or something.  When security updates end it no longer has defense against malware.  The only solution is air gap. 

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I haven't looked at jailbreaking the 6s in awhile but it's 64bit processor and I think it has the vulnerability that apple can't patch with software but I'm not sure. If anything you'll just have to wait a couple months for it to catch up. So if you are interested I would stop updating your phone and wait

Which iOS version is the 6s on ?

There probably will be a jailbreak available.

Currently most versions up to 14.3 are jailbreakable.
