Hyperthreaded Intel Pentium

How good are the hyperthreaded Intel Pentium's for a budget gaming PC aimed at running older and indie games?

That's a lineup, and how well games perform is usually more related to the GPU you have. If you want a concrete answer you'll probably want to provide the game, gpu, and CPU.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

Depending on the GPU and settings of the games you should be able to play them at somewhat decent settings, as these games just really aren't very intensive these days. At what settings and framerate however, is unknown to me. Might actually be better to get a 3200g. Also... PS5? So your build budget is around $500? Unless you're paying scalper prices for the GPU and that's sucking up all your money you should be going for higher-performing parts.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
