It's not like you could purchase one anyways. The 3060ti makes much more sense

Their report on videocardz report from who knows where claims a Time Spy Extreme score of 4111 for 3060. Looking through my old results, I found one 5820k(oc)+2070(oc) scoring 4224. http://www.3dmark.com/spy/5247778

 

Similarly for Fire Strike Extreme I found a run with 6700k(oc)+2070(oc) scoring 10383. https://www.3dmark.com/fs/16758548 That's pretty close to their reported 3060 score of 10284.

 

So if their scores are correct a 3060 is roughly comparable to an overclocked 2070. Sounds better than "only 10% faster than 2060" doesn't it? 

 

Before anyone questions the old CPU and overclocked GPU condition, I'll rerun those tests on my 2070 now with my 8086k (turbo off for reasons).

Turbo off seems kind of like cheating, though, doesn't it? Though I realize that the drivers for the 3060 most likely aren't the same as they will be when the card gets launched. Which might improve performance (?).

No. Stop. 3060 is WORTH IT. Get it within a reasonable price and it will become one of the best bang for the buck
