I do believe if you used pipe---call it sdr 35 to create a case---with a 200 mm fan --you would beat the square cases---also would need a blind at the end to difert the flow--I am a fan---Just going another path--... It would be more efficient.... kind of a wind tunnel. blind means a piece at the end that makes flow go around--ie a flat peice that limits air flow---

Pipe versus case---a circular case with one or 2 fans

diamater is based on motherboard size

You are still saying use a CASE--I am saying use pipe

So you just do not get what I am saying----in a Pipe format ---it is like a wind tunnel.

All assets cooled.

I am using a new standard--In a wind tunnel---everything is cooled--fan is based on motherboard ---get it...?

So you're proposing basically putting components in a pipe with a 200mm fan? Doubt that'd be super effective.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

The blind at the end slows the air and creates a baffle---

I am-- in pipe--I use this to try and help---Do not know what you are doing----In piping I am a professional----and I do believe this will work.

Hey Brok----you put in a square case---I am saying in a cylinder it is more efficient...why do you argue---just mmet the proper fan to the proper pipe...

yea small typo

So run a tunnel system--blind at end diverting--motherboard size equal pipe size--done deal---tho I my troll is here...

I'm so confused, but I get what you're saying. a regular like PVC pipe with a micro computer in it, and a 200mm fan on each end, while this is an interesting idea, in order for it to be useful the pipe would have to be so big it wouldn't make sense for a consumer, and you'd have to redesign an entirely new form factor.

No...Using my water stats----2 lengeths in and one out----with air maybe longer----

So I gave an in case ( mabe longer) alternate----And it will work...ran my numbers...

So the case would basically be a cylinder, you say

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

ok hen at least be positive---and help in new designs.

People aren't obligated to give you only positive responses.

And BTW, you're not going to "give Linus his new build" because his personal system is in a rackmount case in a server closet.

I am not really into bashing--gave an alternate way to make a case--based on motherboard size and use an appropriate fan---equals a wind tunnel that will need a baffle at the end---you people seem to not like this---ok.

But I am the one tonight that gave a new idea....so Good all---I just tried to do something different.... based on what i do'...so again gl all.

Never said his server build---was going off his multiple builds in all his videos----I just am offering a new design on his next build----sorry I upset you.

No very knowledgeable on the physics side of this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but will this be at risk of building up static electricity inside the pipe?

Seeing as some people don't have grounded computers, this could end badly.

There are larger case fans out there, using a 200 mm fan limits the components that can be used due to size constraints.

Um no I quoted SDR 35 which is pvc pipe...so no problem with with that. It is thin walled offered in many sizes---and is cheap.

Considering other members noted you couple of times already and you still continued, I doubt you stop here. If you don't like criticism, don't post to open forums.
