i'm not exactly sure what category this product would fall under, so please lmk if there would be a more appropriate place to post this. I like having all my information on a single system, and i'm a student, so basically every computer i've ever had was a laptop. however, I have reached the point where a single laptop solution isn't cutting it anymore. so, I would like to have a PC as well as a laptop, but I would still like to maintain my single system ideal. I was thinking of like the standard remote backup imaging services that are offered, but you can have multiple computers running that OS, backing up frequently and at the end of a session, so then the other system just restores to the most recent image so it is live synced with the most recent data. is this a thing that exists?

You don't really want to use images with different systems.

Id probably just use a cloud storage solutino that syncs files between the two. And then you can have browsers sync browser data, and oses that sync logins.

thanks for the response. any services you know of that maybe don't do system images, but mirror an OS somehow? if not, any recommendations on file sync services?

You don't really want to mirror the whole os, there are lots of system specific files.

Id just mirror your data files and settings, lots of programs can do this, like one drive, google drive and others.

Another way you can go about this, if you’re fairly certain of having network connectivity, is to use tools like NoMachine to provide a remote desktop connection to your main rig. Then you’re just using the laptop as a thin client.
