Does overclocking cpu increase fps?

i want to oc my a8 6600k from 3.9 to 4.1 do you think is it worth it? and how much fps will it increase?

It depends on the game and rest of your system. Overclocking your CPU is not the be all end all. If your GPU for instance isn't up to snuff, overclocking your CPU all the way to 5GHz ain't gonna do anything.

It might increase your fps a little, but you most likely won't be able to tell difference.

thats a bad idea because im using stock cooler

That's be pretty close tbh, you could always overclock it an see and if it's not much you can just run it at stock speed.

if you're cpu limited then yes, otherwise probably not by much, and 0.2 ghz is very little anyways. 

 

Imo not worth the trouble (shooting) that will probably occur.
