MicroATX on Mini-ITX mounting

Hi, I was just wondering if I could put a MicroATX motherboard on Mini-ITX mounting holes? I know you guys will probably say that the MicroATX board wouldn't fit in my case, but my case is actually really big (like seriously), but it only has Mini-ITX mounting holes. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it would be fine (don't quote me) cos I think those standoffs are shared. I'm sure they have diagrams in google

What specific case is it, there are many large mini ITX cases that almost fit a micro ATX board but do not.

 

The 4 screws used for mini ITX are identically placed to the 4 upper left screws of micro ATX and ATX, so it would be compatible mounting-wise. You just need enough physical height.

Sorry for the necro-post...will the card slots align as well? I am planning a retro PC build inside a mini-ITX case and the board I will be using is micro-ATX with an AGP slot.
