Best Headset Configuration Software?

Hello community!

I have been looking to configure my headsets (HyperX Cloud Mix and Cloud S).

The issue I am running in to is that I like to listen to music when I play games but in the chat, everyone can hear my music through the headset output.

Can someone point me in the right direction to which audio software can help resolve this?

Also, any recommendation on settings is appreciated.

That's a closed back headset. Sounds like you need to turn your volume down if people can hear you. Otherwise, all the settings you need are in Windows by default.

You could use something like RTX Voice to help mask the problem but that's all that's doing, masking it. You shouldn't have things so loud that they're leaking past the sealed earcups and into the microphone.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

Thanks for the responses!

But yes, this is still an issue with the volume at 25%. Maybe I will start with the RTX Voice software, then try buying aftermarket earcups to see if it works.

Will update later in the week.

Thanks for the suggestions again!

What's up everybody!

Thank you again for all your tips, I figured out what the issue is for my headphones!

It turns out that the manufacturer's ear cushion had some noise leaking out. I tested this by having a friend listen to me while playing Warzone and listening to music at 25% volume.

Sucks that my Cloud Mix ear cushion that were a little small to cover my entire ear or it sucks that my ears were a bit too big.

So ear cushion size matters.

One thing I speculate is the ear cushion material, I bought some affordable ear cushions (≈10 USD) that had a foam texture and not the leather-like texture. Maybe a test for another day but I am happy to find a simple and cheap solution to my woes.

Shout out to @rickeo , @Pixel5, and @rice guru for the suggestions!

"25% volume" means absolutely nothing in terms of SPL. That depends on the sensitivity of the headphones in question among other things. It sounds to me like you're listening at a ridiculous volume level. Don't underestimate the ability for headphones to cause hearing damage. Headphones can be a bit dangerous in this regard because you can be listening at extremely high volume levels without realizing it.
