Gpu flood in eBay

BlackOpsPenguin

I've noticed a flood of GPUs on eBay the last two weeks. Must be the bitcoin scare. Prices are much lower than usual.

Im super happy as I snagged a 780 Lightning for $466 shipped.

I saw a MSI 290x Gaming go for 489 shipped

And a Sapphire r9 290 Tri-X for 413 shipped.

All these cards were recently purchased and have warrantys for between 2 and 3 years still intact.

Just make sure you get all the info you can about the cards and select a seller with very good feedback.

I would only buy Nvidia cards, as the AMD ones have probably been mining and through a lot.

Great deals though, should be in the hot-deals section :D

In the EU everything electronic has a 2 year warranty. So the new AMD cards would be fine to buy.

Paypal and Ebay have great buyer protection. But yeah, buy from a buyer that is easy to return the product to and that has some feedback.

It shouldn't matter as long as it's still under warranty, and the R9's are pretty recently released cards, so warranty should be intact.

I'd noticed that, as of late, prices of AMD cards at newegg have been dropping, they are at about their MSRP now I think....hence all those people saying AMD cards are overpriced now have obviously not checked with newegg. Heck, even saw an MSI r9 290 Gaming 4G at newegg two to three weeks back, it was going for about 470USD.

For CA the 280x cards are around 80-150+ CAD over MSRP (Newegg CA). For Newegg US they are around 40-80 USD above MSRP. So they're dropping but not even close to the MSRP. There are a few selling near MRSP but they as you would expect are always sold out. =,=!

I don't think it really belongs in the Hot Deals section. There isn't a specific link. There's always deals on eBay, so if people feel comfortable buying from there they should be checking anyway.

Paypal and Ebay have great buyer protection. But yeah, buy from a buyer that is easy to return the product to and that has some feedback.

90% of sellers on eBay don't return items, they're sold as is.

They have good buyer protection as long as you catch any problems within 2 weeks. After that, it's much tougher.

Warranties are usually original purchaser, so they likely won't apply. An item purchased in the US also does not apply to EU law.

An R9 290 at $420 isn't a great deal for a used card. Most I'd pay for it, since it was likely mining, would be $250.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Msi 290x gaming for 489 shipped no tax...that is way below MSRP....not to mention the mining hype.

And a month old sapphire triX...MSRP is like 450 plus tax and shipping...not to mention mining hype prices.

I don't think one month of mining ruins a card.

Wow good luck with that. You'd be lucky to get a Gtx 670 for 250 on eBay.
