So far ive managed to get a

msi mag b550m mortar wifi motherboard,

1tb sabrent rocket nvme4.0 storage

16gb crucial balistix 3200mhz ram

I have a case, powersupply and keyboard ect... just wondering what would be a good cpu/ gpu combo for what i have. I probably wont be building anytime soon because theres not alot of cpu/gpus at the minute and i live in uk. Any recommendations greatly appreciated, this will be my first build.👍

Do you have the above things you mentioned???

What will be the use case???

If gaming then at what resolution and frame rate???

IMO go for 5800x or maybe if you got the budget then 5900x. Its a balance of both worlds keeping in mind the price.

Depends on budget and what games you will be playing if any.

Forgot to say id be gaming on it and the monitor i own is 1080p. I have the motherboard ram and ssd i mentioned. The 5600x was listed £280 and i wouldnt want to spend any more on a processor. Im stuck between the 5600x and the 3600. And as for a graphics card i have no idea since the prices are ridiculous right now.

The R5 3600 is pretty decent if you want to save some money. The cpu can always be upgraded later on.

As for the gpu I would try and get an RTX 3060 when it releases this month.

Thanks, do you know if i would need to do a bois update if i got the 3600?

Get a 1650 or a 1650ti for now. That will let you play most games on high graphics and really demanding games to run on a pretty good FPS on low graphics settings. As for cpu go for the if you have the budget go for the 5600x

The B550 board will work out of the box with a 3600. You might need to update it if you go for a 5600X, but the Mortar has bios flashback anyway, so you can update even without a cpu.

He is better off trying to grab an RTX 3060 when it releases in a couple of weeks.

he is playing on 1080p so i would recommend the 3060 ti the 3060 got a ridiculous amount of vram and some of the performance is wasted on the amount of vram. he wont even need 6gb for usual gaming. the 3060 will be even more impossible to get because it so cheap

The 3060 ti is sold out though, so that is why I suggested the 3060 as it hasn't been released yet. Also the budget will play a factor. You are looking at £400+ for a 3060 ti so obviously the 3060 will come in cheaper. If he can get hold of a 3060 ti and it fits his budget then great. Otherwise he can try and grab a 3060 in around 10 days time.

yeah i know but the 3060 is gonna get hyped to the moon but in reality if he can get a 30 series its great so thats probably the main goal
