DuckDNS Down???

Is anyone else able to access Duckdns.org? I can not. Is it shut down? Maintenance? I use it to access Nextcloud on my unraid server and its totally down for me.

Downdetector is a good way to quickly see if something's down.

looks like their stuff took a huge dump, but it's online again..

out of curiousity i went to look, and it appears this happens every few months.

Duck DNS isn't listed on Downdetector. I'll keep trying though.

Very Interesting... It's working again for me too as of now. Thanks. I guess I've never noticed that before. I've been using it for quite a while too.

1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare DNS and free.

 

Edit:

For IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

For IPv6: 2606:4700:4700::1111 and 2606:4700:4700::1001

DuckDNS is a dynamic dns service. Look it up.

In other news, I just found out that in fact you can register an SSL cert with DuckDNS via Let's Encrypt. w00t!

LetsEncrypt support Duckdns since 2017.

Yeah, did not know that. I thought you had to own the parent domain to register a cert. Typically sub-domain cert requests requires approval from the parent domain owner as listed via the registrar (WHOIS)

No. A sub domain can be independent, you can choose 1 ssl for all domains or separated.

You can generate letsencrypt from a sub domain, as long as the ip lookup from the dns record is valid.

Just randomly checked now... it’s Down again! Checked 17:49 (5:49pm) eastern time.(New York) I double checked from multiple devices and home WiFi as well as cellular. Down again.
