SCSI was like IDE, but faster and had external variants.

I've got a similar drive to #2, except it's a bit different (IBM 45G9567 or something like that).

It's got the same 50-pin connector, same copper band, and it's 1GB.

If it works, it's worth $200.

#2 is also SCSI, but uses a different connector.

I don't know what the band is for.

I have like 5 of these drives but have no way to test if they work lol

I have a PCI SCSI card that can connect to them.

If you have a computer with PCI slots I can send you a link to test them (you'll need cables though).

I would offer to test them for you but (unless your location is false) I don't think I'll be going to Sweden anytime soon.

Yeah I might skip testing them since they most likely won’t work since I got a bog of drives I got and it had been in a garage

Yeah, a question about IDE drives does the head move if I have just the molex cable in?

I don't believe so.

I'm not sure if the drive spins up either, though it will draw power.

Okay so to get it to move I just have to plug it in and like open it in explorer?

Do you have a working IDE or SCSI controller?
If not, you'll need one. The drives can't communicate across only Molex.

Ah.

Ok.

As long as you have an IDE controller connected to your computer and the drives, and the jumpers are set, you're good.

To set jumpers:

There should be a group of 6 or 10 pins by themselves, with 2 labeled CS or Cable Select, 2 labeled MS or Master, and 2 labeled SL, or Slave.

If you only have 1 drive, short the 2 Master pins with a little jumper.

If you have 2 drives, set 1 to master and 1 to slave.

If I have 3? Does it even work?

I don't think there were any 3-device IDE controllers, so you can only do 2 at a time on one controller.

If you have 2 IDE controllers, though, you can put one drive on its own controller.
